ND Weather Phenomenon

Freezy Fog: Mother Nature's way of suggesting that humans and their roads, cars and the like, don't belong in this place :)

Sunset

I'm vowing to buy a decent SLR camera over holiday season and this will be sooo much better, because this doesn't do it justice.

Better than a cold can of soup

Living in a semi-truck has some obvious disadvantages, one thing is the food.  Often cold can of soup, no fresh produce to speak of, and granola bars.  I bought a mini electric frying pan and viola!  Cooked Breakie!

Lean On Me

I think buildings, like people, sometimes just get a little tired and get a lean on.  Like this one.

A desert

North Dakota Cacti and the most beautiful rocks around!

I'M FAMOUS!

I was contacted by a reporter, interviewed, and published across North Dakota.  At least I had a shower prior to her taking the photo :)

It Wasn't Me

Notice the curve in the metal of this drilling rig, that isn't good.  While the crew was taking the rig down it collapsed.  I'm just happy it wasn't my fault, someone's getting fired for sure !!

View from the driver's seat

A Dirty Blur, it's a perfect description of my last 3 1/2 weeks driving.  One day blends into another and you're always dirty.

Sakakawea Sunset

With the water smooth as glass and resisting the ever increasing pressure to freeze over, Lake Sakakawea, can be absolutely breathtaking!

Hoar Frost

Commonly misspelled but incredibly beautiful!

Skating Rink

The band, Men at Work, once famously sung, "I come from a land down under."  Well, my versions would  go something like, "I come from the land of ice, snow and six months of winter."  Certainly not as catchy of a tune but what can you do?  North Dakota winters will certainly weed out the weak, 63 degrees one day the following day is freezing rain and 6-8 inches of snow and 2 days later it was -10 F with the wind chill :(

Hard At Work

The ebbs and flows of working in the oil patch consist of running days on end with little sleep and occasionally sitting days on end, during which board games on my phone become my best friend

A Foggy Road Ahead

The one thing I do I have time for is thinking, I think actually too much. While driving into the night with weather undecided whether it was snowing or raining, I stopped for the night and woke up to this.  Is it talking about my future....?

North Dakota Remnants

North Dakota's remnants of the past.  I love these old buildings, the home restorer in me wants to buy them and turn them anew.

Kinda random but I have decided to create a blog about my life as an Oil-Field Trucker as well as my time when I'm not.  I hope you enjoy the beauty of North Dakota and begin to appreciate it for what it is.  Enjoy!
